The section, "Cassandra," is absolutely magnificent I am a great "fan" of the Austro-Hungarian diaspora (Zweig, Joseph Roth, Musil, et al), and von Rezzori seems to me to fit quite comfortably in their company. I say this without having read his novels (they are en route), but I'm confident I won't be disappointed. He is a superb structuralist, and to me, a lapsed screenwriter, that is an essential for great writing.
